This was done as a commission so it isn’t for sale, but I have a few other pieces available in my etsy shop.

Hey guys, I’m currently on an awesome road trip of awesomeness and blogging about it over here, if you’re interested.
This is The House on the Rock, a few miles outside Madison, WI. Originally built by an eccentric named Alex Jordan Jr who didn’t have any plans and just started building his house on a rock. The above is ‘the infinity room’ which juts out from the rock and is completely unsupported (staying up due to a massive counter balance and general good will). At the end, is a chair and a glass topped coffee table that lets you view the tree tops below you.
The house is enormous and has the world’s largest carousel (that seems to be a theme of this trip) inside. None of the animals on the carousel are horses which was excellent.
The main living space is what’s actually on top of the rock part, and for the most part it was far too dark to take photos in there. The ceilings were low (low for me, and he was 6ft 4. He must have loved crouching or something) and it was full of twisting corridors and staircases and rooms you have to climb/crawl into. There were nooks and crannies with automated instruments that play themselves.
The instruments are a theme which continues in the rest of the sprawling buildings which surround the main house. Below is one of many full orchestra machines that play when you insert a token.
A street… but inside. Sure, okay.
(If you’re having scaling problems with this pair, note the two people standing to the left)
A tiled car, which had to be armour-plated to take the weight of the tiles.
Another automated orchestra.
I think I only managed to take photos of…maybe 5% of the things there. It’s pretty overwhelming.
